Clean beaches, crystal waters and a golfer's paradise
The southern region of Costa Blanca runs from Alicante to a point roughly midway between Torrevieja and the naval port of Cartagena. With the mountain ranges set much further back from the sea the region is less visually dramatic than northern Costa Blanca but it has its own unique charms. The beaches are equally magnificent and the shared climate is regarded as one of the healthiest on earth. The resorts are less flamboyant with the coastal towns of Santa Pola and Torrevieja vibrant all year round, successfully combining the roles of working towns and holiday resorts.
Located on the fertile plain between the mountains and the sea Elche and Orihuela are typical of the inland towns that offer visitors a glimpse of Spanish history and culture while at the same time provide modern commercial and social amenities.
